How we work

First we listen, then we advise

A good portfolio does not come from a product list. It comes from a conversation about what you are dealing with in life, what your horizon is and what risk means to you.

Our process

From the first meeting to long-term care

Introductory consultation, non-binding

We meet in person or online, whichever suits you. We talk about the kind of partnership you have in mind, what you have already experienced and what has not worked for you. We also say plainly what a long-term partnership asks of us and of you. By the end we know whether it makes sense to go on. There is no fee for this meeting, because nothing is being proposed yet.

We learn your goals and relationship to risk

We go through what you already hold, what income you need, when you will need the money and how you handled previous declines. That lets us set a level of risk that matches your goals, your horizon and the way you actually experience market swings.

We design a tailored portfolio

You receive a concrete composition: equities, bonds and alternative investments in a ratio that matches your goals. We spread it across sectors, regions and currencies, and for each part we explain the role it plays. Ask until everything is clear. That is part of the service.

You become our client

We handle the contracts, the account opening and the first investment. We take you through every step, and from the start you know when your first report arrives and when we will meet to review it.

You get a regular review

You receive an overview of how the portfolio is developing, along with an explanation of what market events did to it. We review the investment plan regularly and assess how close you are to the goals we set at the start. When your situation or the markets change, we adjust the strategy.

We look further ahead

Where you start is not a ceiling. As wealth grows, so do the options for what a portfolio can be built from and where it can be held. In time we will open the topics it may still be too early for: income from wealth, passing it on to children, a horizon that reaches beyond your own. So the plan will change, not because the first one was wrong, but because you will have moved on.

Building blocks

What we build portfolios from

Every part of a portfolio has its purpose. We set the balance between them according to what you want to achieve, when you will need the money and what level of fluctuation is acceptable to you.

Equities

The engine of long-term growth. We build the equity part globally and use broadly diversified ETFs for it. With equities the result is counted in years, not months. This is where the part of your wealth that has time belongs.

Bonds and fixed income

The stabilising part of the portfolio. We select government and corporate bonds with regard to the interest-rate environment, the length of the investment and when you will need the money.

Alternative investments

They complement traditional equities and bonds. They include real-estate and infrastructure projects, private debt or commodities. They can respond to the economy differently from traditional investments and help spread risk more widely.

Cash and reserve

Money you may need sooner than the rest of the portfolio has time to serve its purpose. It stays quickly available, and thanks to the reserve you do not have to sell long-term investments at the wrong moment.
